For four decades, Art by the Falls, sponsored by the Valley Art Center in Chagrin Falls, has been an eagerly anticipated event that kicks off the outdoor art festival season. It features a whirlwind two days of more than 130 artists from around the country offering work in virtually every medium, chances to interact with artists and watch them demonstrate how they create their art, and shop for unique gifts. In addition, there’s food, live music, a kids’ pavilion, and a community art project.
Typically it’s all taken place at Riverside Park in the heart of downtown Chagrin Falls. But now for its 40th year, it’s headed over to the Cleveland Metroparks Polo Field due to ongoing repair work on the Chagrin Falls bridge. There’s some good and some bad. It takes people away from the businesses and restaurants clustered in downtown Chagrin Falls — but they’re running a free trolley so you can park at the polo field and head downtown later – or vice versa. And they’ll have more space at the polo field. They report, “Art by the Falls is a juried show and has become increasingly competitive. Each year we turn down AMAZING artists simply because of space constraints. We are thrilled to be able to increase the amount of talent for attendees to explore.”
Admission is free. Go here for more information about the festival and how to navigate it,
