Don’t know if it’s a post-pandemic urge to connect or what but season announcement events have become all the rage for local theaters, inviting patrons and potential patrons to come in and hear the news which enjoying drinks, snacks and usually, the opportunity to snag season tickets. So far, we’ve seen the Beck Center, Talespinner Children’s Theatre and Ensemble Theatre hold such events, and this week there are two more.
The Cleveland Playhouse will publicly unveil its 2023-24 main stage season — its 108th! — on Thursday June 1 at the Allen Theatre. There’ll be music, food, drinks and prizes. There’s a pre-announcement reception at 6pm, with the announcement coming at 7 and a post-announcement party starting at 7:45pm. Tickets are $35. Get them here.
The relatively new Spanish-language LatinUs Theatre will host a party to announce their 2023-24 season at their home at the Pivot Center for Art, Dance and Expression on Saturday June 3 @ 7pm. There’ll be food, drinks and dance music. It’s free but you must RSVP by Thursday June 1 to info@latinustheater.com.
