Sat 8/17 @ 3-6PM
Hey cat lovers — childless cat ladies, childless cat gentlemen, cat lovers who have children — you’re all invited to the Waterloo Alley Cat Project’s summer benefit event, taking place at Cavotta’s Garden Center in South Collinwood. There you can hang out with other cat lovers, share cat photos, buy a bunch of raffle tickets and put them in a bucket to wine everything from wine to cat toys, tickets to local venues to rock & roll photos, and learn about the good work Waterloo Alley Cat Project does.
Formed 15 years ago by Blue Arrow Records owners Debbie and Pete Gulyas, the all-volunteer group cares for feral cats in the Waterloo area, feeding them and getting them vet care when necessary. They’ve cut down on the excess numbers with their aggressive spay/neuter program and they’ve found homes for the friendlier cats that have made their way to their colonies. Cats have no better friends!
The event is free; Cavotta’s is a lovely place to hang out with an event tent, live music, a bar and a kitchen. And on this day it will be packed with cat lovers. A certain Ohio Senator is guaranteed not to be there so you’re safe from his sneering condescension about cat owners. Be aware that Cavotta’s is a 21+ venue.
