Fri 12/16 @ 5:30-8:30PM
The Nature Center at Shaker Lakes will be looking especially festive this Saturday evening when it hosts its 3rd annual Winter Solstice Luminary Walk and Holiday Market. Never mind that it’s actually five days before the solstice.
Still, the ADA-accessible All Peoples’ Trail will be lit up for nighttime walks, and the Nature Center will be hosting local vendors offering gift-type items where there’ll also be a kids’ crafts activity station to keep them engaged while parents shop. There’ll also be bonfires in the parking lot with food available for purchase from the Metro45 Cafe & Catering Food Truck, a social enterprise of Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry. And you can grab warm beverages, both alcoholic and non-, in the heated pavilion outside the Visitor Center, courtesy of EDWINS Restaurant.
The event is free and open to all. Be aware that the Nature Center’s parking lot will be closed except for those needing accessible parking, but you can park on nearby streets and at the Shaker Heights Board of Education Admin Building at 15600 Parkland Drive, where there’ll be a shuttle to and from the Nature Center from 5:30-8:30pm.
