Take a Final Tour Through the Akron Art Museum’s Jun Kaneko Exhibit

Sat 6/2 @ 2PM

You don’t have much more time to head down to the Akron Art Museum to see ceramic sculptor Jun Kaneko’s Blurred Lines — it closes Sun 6/3.

The exhibit features what the museum calls “transformational moments” in Kaneko’s 50-year career, among them paintings and drawing, several large-scale sculptures and a site-specific installation of his 65-foot painting Mirage. The exhibition was curated by AAM director/CEO Mark Masuoka, who has a relationship of more than three decades with the artist who says he chose works “for their powerful, yet contemplative presence.”

Masuoka has shared his insight into Kaneko’s work in a series of talks. He’ll head one final Last Look tour. It’s free for members; free with regular $10 gallery admission for others. Registration is required; go here.
