“Dvorak and Donuts” at CIM Invites Kids to Get Excited About Music

Sat 6/2 @ 11AM-1PM

The Cleveland International Piano Competition is in full swing, and while your little one may be too young to appreciate the high-level performances by the competitors, CIPC is offering something that will get them excited: Dvořák and Donuts, a day of fun musical learning.

The musicians of CIPC’s PianoKids Trio will greet the kids and join staff members in leading them in music-themed games and coloring, play on the giant floor piano and watching parts of the classic Disney film Fantasia. There’ll be drinks and donates to fuel the fun.

After that, the PianoKids Trio will present a learn-and-play performance in which kids get up and move around as they learn about rhythm, meter, scales, pitch and other musical basics.

The free event takes place in the student lounge at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Registration is not required and you can drop in any time between 11am and 1pm to take in all or some of the activities. Attendees will also get free tickets to the afternoon competition session that day.
