Extend the Holidays with a Trip to Deck the Hall at Akron’s Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens

Wed 12/26-Sun 12/30 @ 5PM

The immediate aftermath of Christmas can be dreary. The presents are opened, the big meal is eaten, the decorations may be looking a bit tired and THERE’S NO SCHOOL.

Extend the magic of the holidays at Akron’s Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens where its Deck the Hall celebration, featuring more than one million lights, continues through Sun 12/30.

The outside grounds sparkle with lights, with light show DAZZLE, synched to holiday music, revolving around a 25-foot tree with lighted ornaments. Inside, 20 rooms inside the Manor House are decorated reflecting a winter wonderland theme. They include the Reception Room turned into a northern Michigan winter scene with a model train circling the room, Cedar Lodge, the Music Room with the theme of the Disney movie Frozen, and snowmen standing guard in the halls. And there are musicians performing holiday tunes from the balcony overlooking the Great Hall.

There’s also a fire pit to sit and enjoy refreshments available at the Gingerbread Bakeshop and the Salty Reindeer, including cocoa, wine, beer, Bavarian pretzels and gingerbread cookies, and a café with still more holiday treats and belly-filling food.

Tickets range from $18-$22 for adults, $7-$9 for ages 6-17. It’s free for 5 and under. They’re available in advance or at the door.
