The theme of the annual Sweetheart Burlesque show at the Beachland Ballroom was “A Tribute to Broadway,” and the performers really milked the theatricality for all it was worth. In addition to such performers as “boylesque” artist Trick Diction performing a number from Little Shop to Horrors to drag queen Samantha Echo vamping it up to “Defying Gravity” from Wicked, Jeremy Beloate and Veronica Odim from the acclaimed Baldwin Wallace music theatre program offered vocal numbers. They also brought along some of their classmates to jump onstage and help out during a couple of numbers.
