The Hooley Comes Home to Kamm’s Corners

Sat 6/15 @ noon-8PM

In celebration of 10 years of the Hooley, Kamm’s Corners has pushed the event back a month from May into June and dubbed it “West Park’s Homecoming Celebration.”

It’s a very Irish-dominated neighborhood as a quick stroll past all the Irish bars on Lorain will tell you. So it’s no surprise that the entertainment on the two stages is dominated by Irish culture. Playing on the Main Stage are traditional Irish music family band the Kilroys, the Pipes and Drums of the Cleveland Police and the Cleveland Firefighters Memorial Pipes and Drums (pictures). For variety, the Wallace Coleman Band will play some blues, the Front contributes classic rock and Monica Robins Ninja County plays country classics.

Over on the Family Stage, various local Irish dance school students will be strutting their fleet-footed stuff, with the Burke School of Irish Dance, the Brady Campbell Irish Dance School, Leneghan Academy of Irish Dance and Cannon Irish Dance scheduled to perform, along with the West Side Irish American Club Pipe Band. And a fun diversion for the kids: a Frozen sing-along with Elsa and Anne.

There’ll be plenty of food, and mom and dad can come back later and have a few drinks at one of the many Irish bars.
