Violinist Jinjoo Cho is the guest of BlueWater Chamber Orchestra for two performances this weekend, Saturday at the Plymouth Church UCC in Shaker Heights and Sunday at Pilgrim Church UCC in Tremont as part of the Arts Renaissance Tremont series. Jinjoo, who is based in Montreal, is an alumna of the Cleveland Institute of Music. She also taught there as well as at Oberlin Conservatory, and now teaches at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music.
The program, titled “Deceptive Cadences,” features three works: Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, featuring Cho, which concludes the concert; Robert Schumann’s Overture, Scherzo and Finale Op. 52; and Thomas Ades’ Three Studies from Couperin.
Tickets for the Saturday evening show are $9-$45; Sunday’s concert is free (no reservation required) with freewill donations gratefully accepted.
