Holden Arboretum Hosts Pancake Breakfast With Exhibit on the Science Behind Maple Syrup

Sat 3/30 & Sun 3/31 @ 9AM-1PM

It’s that time of year when communities, organizations and farms host pancake breakfasts in order to give guests a taste of that Northeast Ohio maple syrup made from the sap that’s being tapped at this time of year.

Holden Arboretum in Kirtland joins the pack but with something extra: an interactive exhibit Art in the Science of Maple Sap in the building adjacent to the Corning Visitor Center. Various media including print, fabric, sculpture and mixed media will explain to visitors how sugar maple trees make their sap. There’s even a working model of a maple tree with LED lighting and shadowboxes. And there’ll be guided tours exploring the syrup-producing trees in the arboretum’s collections.

So all of that will work up your appetite and your hunger for some of the good syrup so you can sit down and enjoy unlimited syrup-drenched multigrain, blueberry, regular, gluten-free and chocolate chip pancakes, along with various sides. Seatings are every 45 minutes from 9am-1pm. They’re $11 for member adults, $6 for member children, $18 for non-member adults, $10 for non-members children. They’re on sale through 3/27.
