Dance and Drink in the Street at Main Street Kent’s Oktoberfest

Sat 10/5 @ noon-10PM

Main Street Kent’s sixth annual Oktoberfest will focus on eating and drinking on the street, the street being Franklin Avenue in downtown Kent.

There, local food establishments including Erie Street Kitchen, Burnside Barbecue, Ray’s Place, GRAZERS, Scratch, Treno Ristorante, Kent Cheesemonger, Popped!, and Johnny Lote’s Latin Street Corn, will be selling Germany foods prepared just for the occasion, such as pierogis, schnitzel and beer cheese. And you know Germany food — come hungry!

There’ll also be a pair of beer trucks parked there, featuring Spaten Oktoberfest, seasonal beers and cider (non-alcoholic drinks will also be available). Purchase a 16-ounce commemorative mug for $10 at the ticket booth near Ray’s Place will be situated on Franklin Ave. Purchase includes one beer ticket; additional tickets are $5. Be warned: it’s cash only.

Entertainment? But of course! How can you drink beer and eat schnitzel without music? The Mike Wojtla Trio kicks things off from noon-3pm with music for polka dancing, followed by Vibrogroove at 3:30, City of Invention at 5:30 and Outside Voices at 8pm. There’ll also be dance performances by the German Family Society Youth Groups at 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30pm.
