Ed Caner Brings Detroit’s Matt Watroba as his Guest for His CVNP House Concert

Sun 4/7 @ 7PM

Local violinist Ed Caner has played music in northeast Ohio ranging from classical to heavy underground rock for going on three decades. These days he’s mostly known for playing with his wife Laurie in the Americana/roots rock band Hey Mavis, and for his laidback, intimate “house concerts” at Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s Hines Hill Conference Center.

He usually has a special guest or two, and this month he’ll be bringing in a guest from up north. Folk singer/educator/radio host Matt Watroba was scheduled to perform with Caner in January but bad weather canceled the show. Watroba is a fixture on the Detroit acoustic music scene, and he’s often visited these parts to perform at events such as the Blue Sky Folk Festival and the Folknet concert series. He’s promoted folk music on the radio in Detroit, is a founding member of the National Folk Alliance and a charter member of the board of directors of Ann Arbor’s The Ark, a nonprofit that promotes folk music.

Tickets are $25. Kids under 10 are free, and the concert is family-friendly.
