Rocky River Nature Centers Hands On Heritage Offers Pioneer Crafts and Demos

Sat 10/6 @ 11AM-5PM

Let the kids spend some time outdoors and soak in nature before it gets too cold at the Rocky River Nature Center’s Hands on Heritage.

Both the nature enter and the surrounding trails will be bursting with special activities including butter churning, candle-making, and demonstrations by craftspeople of such traditional pioneer skills as blacksmithing, beekeeping, lace-making and outdoor cooking. Visitors will have a chance to engage in hands-on crafts such as quill pen writing, or take a walk with a naturalist to learn how pioneers used various plants. There will be fresh-pressed apple cider!

The event is free, although se workshops have an additional charge.
