Heather Maloney Returns to Oberlin’s Riverdog Barn with a “Spiritual” New Album

Sat 10/5 @ 7:30PM

Massachusetts-based vocalist/songwriter/guitarist Heather Maloney was a seasoned musician with expansive experience before releasing her debut album in 2013: She had studied opera, sung jazz, experimented with Indian music and even spent nearly three years at a meditation retreat center before breaking into the acoustic singer/songwriter scene in New England to hone her own individual voice.

She’s just released a new album called Soil in the Sky. The new album, she says, “has a spiritual thread.” Her bio calls the new album a “collective memory, stitched together from personal and universal ecstasy, loss both intimate and ancient… it’s a constellation that looks a lot like life.”

She’s bringing the new music to Oberlin’s Riverdog Barn, where she’s cultivated a devoted following and they suggest you contact them early to reserve a good seat. They tell us “Probably no other Riverdog performer has touched people as personally and deeply as Heather Maloney. We feel strongly she is an important artist that should not be missed!”

Gates open at 6pm. You’re welcome to bring your cooler and picnic basket and enjoy the fresh air. Admission is $17 at the gate; $5 for kids and students with ID.
