Kurentovanje Week Kicks Off With Slovenian Dinner and Exhibit

France Prešeren

Mon 2/25 @ 7PM

Tue 2/26 @ 6:30-9:30PM

The lively Kurentovanje celebration, which takes place in and around the Slovenian National Home at East 65th and St. Clair, is a day of family-friendly fun based on a “chase winter away” celebration, based on a popular celebration in Ptuj, Slovenia.

Now in its seventh year, it’s evolved from a one-day event (this year, Sat 3/2) to a week’s worth of festivities. It begins on Mon 2/25 with a dinner at the Slovenia National Home, with chefs from Cleveland and Slovenia preparing the multi-course meal and presenting the dishes, with a talk about their inspiration and prepration, to guests seated at communal tables. Tickets are $90 and incldue the meal and two drinks; proceeds help defray the cost of putting on the festival. Order here.
