DESCRIPTION:\nSat 10/25 @ 7:30PM\nFor its first international concert of th
 e season\, the Cleveland Classical Guitar Society is hosting a next genera
 tion artist in the classical guitar scene\, who is a contrast to the old g
 uard of white American and European males. Puerto Rican guitarist Leonela 
 Alejandro is making her Cleveland debut at this show\, after garnering int
 ernational acclaim for winning ten first-place competition prizes and snag
 ging the Guitar Foundation of America’s Internation Artist competition p
 rize at just 24.\nShe did her early studies in Puerto Rico before migratin
 g to the mainland to study at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where sh
 e earned her bachelor’s degree in 2020 and finished her graduate studies
  at Columbus State university in 2023. Since then she has been working to 
 establish herself as both a solo artist and a performer with orchestras.\n
 She’ll be playing at the Maltz Performing Arts Center. Her program inclu
 des music by older living composers as well as 20th century Puerto Rican\,
  Cuba\, Brazilian\, Japanese and Italian composers as well as a piece by l
