 nOne of many little towns along Lake Erie’s shores\, Vermilion in Lorain
  and Erie counties\, along the Vermilion River\, depends on the water for 
 its livelihood\, attracting visitors for boating\, fishing and other recre
 ational activities. That led it to create its Festival of the Fish in 1966
 \, a tradition that continues to this day\, with roots in its longtime dep
 endence on the fishing industry.\nIt takes place for three days every Fath
 er’s Day weekend\, attracting thousands of visitors to enjoy local food 
 and vendors\, arts &amp\; crafts\, and special activities of all kinds\, s
 uch as sandcastle building contest and a dog costume contest\, fireworks a
 t dusk on Friday\, the Crazy Craft Regatta Race lighted boat parade on Sat
