  trolley level under the Detroit-Superior (Veterans Memorial) Bridge\, dis
 used since trolleys stopped running in 1954\, has fascinated Clevelanders 
 for years. It’s a long\, empty span with crumbling old stations and entr
 ances\, and great views of the city and the river. It’s been opened spor
 adically for events\, such as two fondly remembered editions of the Ingenu
 ity Festival (2010-2011)\; a Riverfest display of lights by British artist
 s Squidsoup in 2018\; and an art installation called Go Dream created by C
 leveland’s Chuck Karnak in 2024. On certain weekends\, the county has op
 ened it for self-guided walking tours. Grandiose plans for permanent uses 
 have never come to fruition.\nThis weekend as part of Canalway’s Clevela
 nd History Days\, the bridge will again be open for self-guided tours wher
 e visitors can learn more about the bridge’s history and interact with a
  team working on plans for more regular access to the lower deck. Walk the
  bridge’s trolley level and then come join the Picnic in the Park at Can
 al Basin Park.\nAdmission is free but visitors must sign a waiver before e
 ntering the bridge’s lower level\, and all those under 18 must be accomp
