 ocused on queer women of color. Its upcoming program\, a special screening
  of the 1995 filmnA Litany for Survival: The Life &amp\; Work of Audre Lo
 rde\, looks at the life of noted lesbian writer\, educator and civil right
 s activist Lorde (1934-1992)\, whose life was complicated by her need\, ea
 rly in her life\, to conceal her personal relationships which she later be
 came open about. In addition to her extensive poetry work\, she wrote nonf
 iction about her ideas and life.\n The screening takes place at SPACES ga
 llery\, in conjunction its current show by Brookyln-based ọmọlolú Ref
 ilwe Bàbátúndé\, whose show meditations on be(IN) thr(u)\, a multi-med
 ia installation which addresses subjects such familial archives\, Black so
 und traditions\, healing practices\, and self-emancipation.\nThe program i
 ncludes guest speakers Nedra Johnson and Storme Webber\, and an open mic f
 ollowing the film in which audience members are invited to share their fee
 lings and impressions about Lorde’s work. Doors open at 1pm with refresh
 ments\; film screening starts at 1:40. The open mic follows from 2:40-3pm.
