DESCRIPTION:\nThu 5/14 @ 7PM\nPhil Manzanera is best known as the lead guit
 arist for the British band Roxy Music\, who achieved huge success in the 7
 0s with albums such as their self-titled debut in 1972\, For Your Pleasure
  in 1973\, and their platinum album Avalon in 1982 and songs such as “Do
  The Strand\,” “Love Is the Drug” and “Avalon.”  Their arty\, e
 legant music and image dovetailed perfectly with the glam rock movement of
  the time but didn’t sound quite like anyone else. Manzanera was with th
 em through most of that time\, as well as a couple of reunion stints in th
 e early 2000s and 2022\, leaving his personal mark on their sound.\nHe’s
  led an interesting life\, both in Roxy Music and outside of the band\, in
 cluding a peripatetic childhood when he lived in various places in South A
 merica and the Caribbean\, including pre-Castro Cuba\, and a post-Roxy car
 eer when he collaborated with a who’s who of prominent musicians and rel
 eased several solo albums. In 2024 he released a book covering his adventu
 rous life\, called Revolucion to Roxy.\nManzanera will be at the Rock Hall
  for an interview and book signing\, where he’ll also do a short perform
