 breakout album Nick of Time at the age of 40. By then she’d made ten alb
 ums and been performing and touring for 20 years. Since then she’s recei
 ved a dozen more Grammys and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and was i
 nducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.\nLocal education nonp
 rofit Roots of American Music’s is hosting a series called Masters of Am
 erican Music\, which shares the stories of important American musicians in
  music and storytelling. It takes place on the fourth Wednesday of each mo
 nth at Visible Voice Books’ new theater space. Raitt is their featured a
 rtist this month. The performer honoring Raitt will be Roots of America Mu
 sic’s executive director\, Cleveland singer/songwriter/guitarist Taylor 
 Lamborn\, who says she is inspired by Raitt’s music and guitar playing a
 s well as her advocacy work on behalf of her overlooked predecessors\, chi
 ldren’s music education\, the No Nukes movement and environmental causes
 .\nThere’s a $15 cover at the door which supports the work of Roots of A
 merican Music\, which uses music to educate people of all ages about histo
