 re aware of native plants. Maybe it has to do with the discussion of invas
 ives and how they impact the ecosystem\, crowding out natives that support
  local fauna and pollinator insects. We’ve seen the arrival in just the 
 past few years of businesses such as Meadow City Native Plants that focus 
 just on those plants intended to grow in this climate. And you’ll find m
 ore labeled native plants at local garden centers.\nThe nonprofit Nature C
 enter at Shaker Lakes\, which holds several plant sales throughout the pla
 nting season\, is holding one this Saturday dedicated to native plants and
  shrubs homegrown by local gardeners. They’ll have more than 100 varieti
 es\, including coneflower\, mountain mint\, swamp rose\, ironweed\, honeys
 uckle and many more. It will be open from 11am-3pm with a special member h

 wn-sale/\nAnd on the same day out in Huron\, Mulberry Creek Herb Farm will
  be holding Native Plant Saturday where natives will share the spotlight w
 ith Mulberry Creek’s amazing selection of herbs\, succulents\, perennial
 s\, scented geraniums and vegetable starters. There is also a food truck t
 here every Saturday\, and Mulberry Creek’s new wine tasting room is open
