SUMMARY:PHOTOSTREAM: No Ice Rally @ Market Square Park by Anastasia Pantsio
 s
DESCRIPTION:\nFri 1/16\nMuch as the video of the police murder of George Fl
oyd in Minneapolis 5 1/2 years ago ignited anger and a movement across the
country\, so too did the shocking footage of a violent ICE (Immigration a
nd Customs Enforcement) officer shooting a peaceful 37-year-old woman\, Re
nee Good\, in the head and killing her without cause or provocation — ir
onically also in Minneapolis\, a city known for being peaceful and safe
 — on Wednesday January 7 ignited protests across the country. Protestors
marched in downtown Cleveland Thursday\, and on Friday\, hundreds gathere
d in Market Square park across from the West Side Market to express their
outrage\, listen to speakers and march through the streets of Ohio City be
aring homemade signs. As incidents of violence involving ICE escalate (Goo
d isn't the first person shot or killed without cause by ICE) and as these
masked thugs snatch more and more people off the streets without warrants
and teargas peaceful protestors\, pushback against their extrajudicial ac
tivities is likely to increase\, along with calls for their defunding or e
 ven abolition.\n\nView the PHOTOSTREAM here.\n\n
