 al History is getting in the spirit of the season with its two-day pre-Hal
 loween event\, Owls &amp\; Howls.\nVisitors to the museum are invited to w
 ear costumes\, which are now virtually a month-long October uniform\, to t
 ake party in special activities such as pumpkin decorating and special ani
 mal encounters. The latter include the chance to learn more about the vari
 ous types of owls that live in its Perkins Wildlife Center\, as well as th
 e other animal residents\, including coyotes (the “howl” of the events
  name)\, foxes\, the playful\, adorable river otters\, a porcupine and a g
 roundhog (although you probably have one or more of those in your backyard
 ).\nChildren 12 and under wearing a costume get free admission and a trick
 -or-treat item. All activities are included with regular admission.\ncmnh.
