DESCRIPTION:\nThrough Fri 7/3\nThere has never been a time when it’s more
  urgent to celebrate one of the Cleveland music scene’s most sparkling g
 ems: college radio. Its oldest college radio station in Case Western Reser
 ve University’s WRUW-FM 91.1\, which launched in 1967\, gradually upgrad
 ing its power until it was heard over most of Greater Cleveland. The stati
 on helped break indie rock bands that later went on to become widely popul
 ar\, and its diverse lineup of show hosts play everything from bluegrass a
 nd folk to Broadway tunes\, jazz and death metal.\nIn 1982\, it held its f
 irst Studio-A-Rama\, an all-day\, all-evening free concert taking place in
  the courtyard behind the Mather Building where its studio is located. It 
 ran for 38 years until the pandemic\, took off from 2020-2023\, and return
 ed in 2024.\nThe lineup generally features an array of mostly local bands 
 with a regional or national band at the top of the bill. And once again\, 
 they’re accepting submissions from bands who’d like to take part in th
 is year’s Studio-A-Rama\, happening on Saturday September 12. But the de
 adline is Friday July 3 so hurry! All types of music are welcome! One thin
 g that’s changed is that bands who have played in recent years are also 
 welcome to submit: there used to be a waiting period so that things didn
 ’t get too clique-y. But with the huge array of great bands currently in
  the local music scene hopefully that won’t happen!\nGo here to submit y
