 ton Yards in the Warehouse District shows how something considered a craft
  can also be an art form. Quilting the Commons displays the work of member
 s of the Northeast Ohio Modern Quilt Guild\, an organization founded in 20
 16 to promote innovative forms of quilt-making\, which often tells persona
 l stories or makes social/political/historical statements. (Many of the qu
 ilts by the NE Ohio-based African American Quilt and Doll Guild\, which ha
 ve been displayed at the former Station Hope events\, do this as well.)\nT
 his show will display how the group’s collaborative practices and experi
 mentation lead them in new directions rooted in an old craft. “These wor
 ks reflect not only individual vision but also the collective spirit of ma
 king—where skills are passed down\, ideas evolve\, and community sustain
 s creativity\,” says the show’s statement. “In quilting\, craft beco
 mes a powerful intersection of art\, connection\, and belonging.”\nHeidi
  Massingill\, Margaret Dobbins and Amy Viny curated the show\, which featu
