DESCRIPTION:\nFri 6/12 @ 5-10PM\nNear West Theatre celebrates diversity of 
 every type in all its programs all year long\, providing a home for people
  of all ages who might feel they don’t fit anywhere else and bringing pe
 ople — especially young people — together to get to know each others a
 nd to work toward common goals. So it’s appropriate that it’s hosting 
 its own Juneteenth event this weekend on the outdoor Near West Theatre Pla
 za in front of its Gordon Square Building to honor the day in 1865 when th
 e last slaves learned about emancipation.\nThe event will feature an array
  of performances by local ensembles\, including the Near West Theatre Yout
 h performers\, Blakk Jakk Dance Collective\, DOC studios: Poetry &amp\; Sp
 oken Word\, Djapo Cultural Arts\, and AfroFunk Revölution. The Yum Food T
 ruck will be onsite and there will be information tables with resources fr
 om community groups\, and Juneteenth-themed crafts.\nIt’s free and all a
