DESCRIPTION:\nSat 3/21 @ 1-1:30PM\nSteve Parker is a Texas-based artist/mus
 ician whose bio says his work “creates sculptural ecosystems that transf
 orm spaces into large-scale collaborative performances.”\n\nYou can figu
 re out what that means when the immersive installation Fight Song he creat
 ed as artist-in-residence at SPACES opens there this Friday. He has a prev
 ious connection to Northeast Ohio: he has a degree from Oberlin College.) 
 The exhibit\, described as a participatory\, evolving sound sculpture\, in
 corporates football\, marching band traditions\, and sonic therapy. Salvag
 ed band instruments hang from the ceiling and gallery visitors can interac
 t with an EEG brain monitor that translates brainwaves into live musical c
 ompositions that reflect the exhibit’s theme of injury\, healing\, and l
 abor. Material providing background for the show with be on view in an adj
 oining gallery. On alternate Saturdays\, area performers will be in the ga
 llery to activate the exhibit based on prompts from Parker.\n\nThis Saturd
 ay\, Cleveland-based movement- and sound-based artist Marcia Custer will b
 e doing the honors. Her bio describes her as having a penchant for both th
 e bizarre and the sublime… rooted in feminist and queer approaches to em
 bodiment\, experimental sound\, and radical community dance practice.”\n
