SUMMARY:Meet Democratic Candidate for Ohio Secretary of State and Help Advo
 cate for Accessible Elections
DESCRIPTION:[caption id="attachment_171046" align="alignnone" width="700"]
file races for governor and U.S. senator on the ballot in November. But on
e of the most important races will be the one to replace term-limited secr
etary of state Frank LaRose\, one of the worst holders of that office in O
hio history. The GOP candidate to replace him\, current Ohio state treasur
er Robert Sprague\, promises to be just as bad\, if not worse. He leads hi
s website “Election Security” page\, claiming “only the federal gove
rnment knows who is and who is not an American citizen\,” rubber stampin
g the unconstitutional idea that the federal government should take over e
lections to prevent non-citizens from voting—something that virtually ne
ver\, if ever\, happens. His page states that he will “work with the Tru
mp administration” on elections\, despite the administration’s false c
laims of fraud and recent claim that elections\, which on a state level ha
ve been rigorously bipartisan\, should be run entirely by Republicans.\nLu
ckily\, Democrats have two good candidates for this office: Columbus area
state representative Allison Russo and Cincinnati-based oncologist Dr. Bry
an Hambley. While Russo’s experience in state government is an asset\, b
oth candidates have proposed strong platforms that focus on protecting the
right to vote\, not “protecting” elections from imaginary threats.\nT
here are\, and likely will continue to be\, plenty of chances to meet and
hear both candidates. This Thursday\, you can meet Hambley outside the Cuy
ahoga County Board of Elections in 1803 Superior Avenue when he and his su
pporters rally against the federal election takeover which Trump has been
threatening and Sprague supports. He’ll be there from 5-6pm.\nhttps://ww
