DESCRIPTION:\nThu 4/3 @ 6:30-9PM\nThe Maltz Museum launched its Stop the Ha
 te Youth Speak Out competition to encourage young people in grades 6-12 to
  think and write about bigotry\, intolerance and prejudice and how to figh
 t back against them. And\, as discrimination\, inequality\, exclusion and 
 bullying are being encouraged and even written into law by elected officia
 ls — look no further than the Ohio Legislature — getting young people 
 to think about pushback is essential.\nLater it added the Youth Sing Out c
 ompetition where classes work with area professional musician/educators to
  write songs on the same topic. Last year\, it added still another segment
  to the contest\, where students took workshops with Lake Erie Ink to expr
 ess their ideas in poetry. This year\, nearly 4500 hundred students from m
 ore than 160-plus schools across northeast Ohio took part in creating essa
 ys\, songs or poems\, competing for more than $100\,000 in scholarship awa
 rds for themselves and anti-bias education grants for their schools.\nThe 
 Maltz Museum recently named the finalists in its 17th annual Stop the Hate
  Youth Speak Out and Youth Sing Out contests and will be announcing the wi
 nners at an awards ceremony at the Tri-C’s Eastern Campus Mandel Theatre
  on Thursday April 3. The Youth Sing Out winners will be performed by the 
 winning schools. It’s free and open to the public but you should registe
