SUMMARY:Legendary European String Quartet Plays for the Cleveland Chamber M
 usic Society
DESCRIPTION:\nTue 11/11 @ 7:30PM\nThe Takács Quartet was founded at the Mu
sic Academy in Budapest\, Hungary in the 1975\, and has had many career mi
 lestones in its 50 years\, including a Grammy\, and recently\, a feature i
n the New York Times marking its 50thanniversary. Based in Boulder\, Color
ado\, since 1986\, the group still features one original member\, cellist
András Fejér. But like many long-running string quartets\, it’s change
d members over the years. First violinist Edward Dusinberre has been with
the ensemble since 1993\, while second violin Harumi Rhodes and violist Ri
chard O’Neill are recent additions.\nThe group returns to Cleveland this
week to perform at Disciples Church in Cleveland Heights under the auspic
es of the Cleveland Chamber Music Society. Its vast repertoire includes bo
th noted staples from the classical repertoire and premieres by contempora
ry composers. Their Cleveland concert leans on the former: they’ll perfo
 rm Joseph Haydn’s 1793 String Quartet in G minor\, Béla Bartók’s 192
7 String Quartet No. 3\, and 1896 Antonin Dvorak’s String Quartet No. 13
  in G major.\nGo here for tickets.\nclevelandchambermusic/takacs-quartet\n
