 r 150 years\, black bears are dipping their paws back into Ohio. While the
 ir habitat extends across the country\, they haven’t been seen in this n
 eck of the woods as Ohio has become urbanized and industrialized and the h
 eavily wooded areas they prefer have disappeared. Hunting didn’t help ei
 ther and by the 1850s they were rarely spotted outside of a few sightings 
 in southern Ohio. And the 150-to-400 pound omnivores typically avoid peopl
 e\, mostly active at dawn and dusk. They don’t want to run into you any
