SUMMARY:HEDGE Gallery Show Features Three Artists Addressing Dislocation an
 d Change
DESCRIPTION:[caption id="attachment_170066" align="alignnone" width="700"]
 Painting by David King[/caption]\nWed 11/19 @ 5-7PM\nFri 11/21 @ 5-8PM\nHE
DGE Gallery has been presenting a series of mini-group shows\, matching tw
o or three artists with sympathetic styles that offer a conversation betwe
en their approaches.\nIts final show of 2025\, called On the Edge\, will o
ffer work by three Cleveland-area aritsts: painter David King\, sculptor K
enn Hetzel and photographer Daniel Levin.\nKing’s recent oil paintings\,
constructions and cut-outs revolve around the unease people feel when the
y’re coping with change\, using images of strangers in odd situation tha
t combine humor and mystery.. “I portray these feelings by using distinc
t edges to create unfamiliar worlds for the individuals I paint\,” he sa
ys. “I place figures on new\, unearthly planes\, construct elaborate fra
ctured environments\, and remove and release others from their environment
altogether.”\nSculptor Kenn Hetzel is known for his organic wood\, ston
e and found-object pieces\, currently focusing on climate change and the h
uman condition\, using a range of different materials make political obser
vations about the environment and the human condition.\nDaniel Levin will
also be looking at dislocation and accidental experiences. He says “I am
never interested in history within a vacuum. My interests invariably rela
te to how our histories can help us understand our present.”\nThe show o
pens with a preview on Wednesday November 19 @ 5-7pm\, and has its officia
l opening on Friday November 21 @ 5-8pm during 78th Street Studios’ Thir
 d Friday.\nhedgeartgallery/on-the-edge\n[mappress mapid="2034"]
