 ith The Crosby  Archives and Cultural Gardens in Kent and Jali Production
 s to host a concert of kora music by Gambian griot alhaji Paper Susso at i
 ts gallery on North Water Street.\nThe kora is a West African stringed ins
 trument\, typically with 21 strings\, with a body carved from a gourd\, an
 d musical properties of that combine the qualities of the harp\, the lute\
 , and the guitar. Susso is a master kora player\, who comes from a family 
 steeped in The Gambia’s musical and oral storytelling traditions. He has
  performed and taught all over the world\, spreading word about this tradi
 tional form of African music. He is also carrying the music forward as the
  director of the Koriya Musa Center for Research in Oral Tradition\, and h
 is son is also a kora player who performs with his father’s band.\nPapa 
 Susso will be performing at Standing Rick Cultural Arts with his group Rhy
 thm of Love. Admission is $20 which benefits the sponsoring organizations.
