 chelor’s degree at Hiram College\, and his master’s from Youngstown St
 ate University\, where he researched Brazilian music in Rio de Janeiro for
  his thesis\, adding that to his earlier jazz\, gospel and blues influence
 s. He made his recording debut with pianist Joe McBride and toured extensi
 vely with bassist Christian McBride’s Tip City and noted jazz organist J
 oey DeFrancesco. He’s also released four albums under his own name\, and
  continues to perform across the country at jazz festivals and special eve
 nts.\nBut he hasn’t forgotten northeast Ohio and you can find him at var
 ious local venues including this week at the rustic intimate Happy Days Lo
 dge in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. He’ll be joined there by vocalist 
 Jessica Yafanaro\, who studied both classical and jazz voice at several no
 rtheast Ohio schools including The Music Settlement\, Baldwin Wallace Univ
 ersity and Tri-C\; she’s been performing and recording music for a decad
