SUMMARY:CPT Holds World Premiere of "The Body Play" Savaging the Health Car
 e System
DESCRIPTION:\nFri 3/28-Sun 4/13\nAlthough it’s apparently had plenty of p
reviews — it’s won a bunch of awards — Madison Wetzell’s new play
The Body Play is having its world premiere at Cleveland Public Theatre in
the next three weeks. Critics have commended it for its “physical comedy
and verbal dexterity\,” its “feminist instincts\,” its “queer len
ses on mind/body dualism and hilarious critiques of the medical industrial
complex as well as wellness cultures.”\nThe synopsis tells us that “A
my\, and Amy's body\, take us through a physically comedic journey through
chronic illness\, unresponsive medical personnel\, and an unstable health
care system while questioning the absurdity of being embodied and what it
might mean to be a body.”\n The play will be performed from Friday Marc
 h 28 (with Saturday March 29 being the official opening with a post-show p
arty with the cast) and runs through Sunday April 13.\nGet tickets and mor
 e info here.\n[mappress mapid="192"]\n
