 “Moonchild” Haddix is another of those local blues treasures who is pr
 obably better known outside the city to aficionados of the genre and those
  who attend blues festivals. He came north from Mississippi as a teenager 
 at the tail end of the Great Migration\, settling in Cleveland in 1959 aft
 er a short stay in Milwaukee. He joined the then-active blues/soul club sc
 ene\, shaking things up with his soul- and pop-infused version of the blue
 s.\nBy the late ’80s\, he was focusing on touring and performing at blue
 s festivals\, many of them in Europe. He released a series of records on t
 he Atlanta-based Ichiban label and later on his own Wann-Sann label\, show
 casing his blending of traditional blues with uptown soul influences.\nIt
 ’s become an annual tradition for Haddix to celebrate his birthday with 
 a blues brunch at the Music Box Supper Club. So once again you can honor h
 is birthday — his 87th — while enjoying the Music Box’s lavish Sunda
 y Brunch. (His actual birthday is November 26).\nDoors open at 11am for th
 e noon performance. Reservations are required. Brunch is extra and optiona
