SUMMARY:Beachland's Halloween Throwdown Features Three Eclectic Local Bands
DESCRIPTION:\nFri 10/31 @ 8PM\nMaybe all that trick-or-treat/costume/candy/
pumpkin-flavored (ugh) everything just isn’t your thing. So how about go
ing out to hear some of the most dynamic and interesting music being made
in Northeast Ohio right now? That’s what you’ll get at the Halloween T
hrowdown at the Beachland Ballroom\nBut what they’ll be throwing down is
diverse\, high-energy music. It starts with Cleveland rapper/vocalist/mul
ti-instrumentalist Jinari Kemet. His music\, which he’s showcased on thr
ee albums and many live performances in the area including last year’s F
resh Fest at Rid-All Farm\, combines influences from hip hop\, pop and R&a
mp\;B — “he calls it hip hop fusion.”\nHe’ll be followed by Black
Voltron\, led by composer/multi-instrumentalist Robin “Hyperius” Blake
\, a maestro in a flowing robe with a music degree from Cleveland State an
 d a musical range that includes soul\, jazz\, disco\, neo-soul and world m
usic. He was a winner of the Cleveland Arts Prize’s 2025 Verge Prize\, b
ut he doesn’t do it alone: he’s skilled at putting together musicians
with the ability to execute his expansive ideas.\nThe show is headlined by
Da Land Brass Band\, and then the party really gets started. This New Orl
eans-influenced brass-and-percussion ensemble is led by William Washington
III\, who pushes the ten-piece ensemble (there are going to be a lot of m
usicians on the stage this evening!) to greater levels of exuberance and a
udience engagement.\nDon’t worry about the costume — just wear comfort
able shoes for all the dancing you’ll be doing. Get your tickets here.\n
