DESCRIPTION:\nThu 10/23 @ 10AM\nArt House Inc\, the arts education nonprofi
 t located in the Brooklyn Centre neighborhood\, has had a project in the w
 orks for a few years to enhance the outdoor space next to its building. Th
 e Creative Garden is a green space that includes a bioretention system\, s
 imilar to a rain garden\, which collects rainwater and purifies it of poll
 utants\, as well as an all-seasons bioswale\, another piece on the system 
 of absorbing pollutants. It’s also intended as a gathering space for nei
 ghbors and outdoor classes. And of course\, part of its plan is to install
  outdoor artwork.\nNow it will be hosting a ribbon cutting for the garden 
 and unveiling the first new pieces of art: Brinsley Tyrrell’s Tableau of
  Art in Action\, and Garden Noir Jardin du Jour\, a metal sculpture featur
 ing a group of symbolic formed created by Art House’s executive director
 \, artist Laila Voss. “Originally commissioned by a Cleveland art collec
 tor in 2009 and generously donated to Art House\, the work features “flo
 wers” and “leaves” that reference cultural symbols across time and p
 lace\,” they say of Voss’s work. “Together\, they form a circular me
 ditation on domestic life — reinterpreted here to reflect Art House’s 
 mission of creativity and connection.”\nThey join a previously created s
 culpture called Gateway by local artist Hector Castellanos.\nGo here for m
