SUMMARY:Apollo's Fire's Baroque Bistro Celebrates a Peaceful Jerusalem of t
 he Past
DESCRIPTION:\nSat 3/28 @ 6:45PM\nSun 3/29 @ 12:30PM\nApollo’s Fire\, Clev
eland’s Baroque chamber orchestra\, brings its full array of musicians t
o its regular season shows\, taking place at more formal venues such as ch
urches\, synagogues\, and the Cleveland Museum of Art. But they also have
performances called Baroque Bistros\, where smaller groups of players perf
orm in more casual settings.\nThey’ve got two such performances coming u
p that are more intimate versions of their upcoming “O JERUSALEM!: Cross
roads of Three Faith” concerts. At Baklava Bash\, performed at Akron’s
BLU Jazz+ on Saturday and the Music Box Supper Club on Sunday\, they’ll
share ancient songs and stories of Jerusalem\, taking the audience back i
n time to when different faiths lived relatively peaceably in that city
 — what a dream\, eh? The concert is a tour of the four quarters of the O
ld City\, with the ancient tradition of Hakawati or Middle Eastern storyte
lling\, illuminating the music. Performers include oud player Ronnie Malle
y sharing stories of his Palestinian elders\; Israeli-American musician Da
phna Mor playing the ney\, a woodwind instrument\; hammered dulcimer exper
t Tina Bergmann\; and other Apollo’s Fire members on cello and percussio
n.\nGo here for more information and tickets.\napollosfire.org/event/bistr
