  violins. They say the inspiration of this event was an 18th-century tradi
 tion when musicians faced off to show off their skills.\nSeveral of its st
 ar musicians will be in the spotlight including Kathie Stwart (flute)\, Da
 phna Mor (recorders)\, Alan Choo and Emi Tanabe (violins) and Rebecca Land
 ell (cello) as they take the program — featuring double concertos by Bac
 h and Vivaldi\, among others — out for a test run before taking it acros
