 oll right now. If you went to Playhouse Square to see the musical Suffs ab
 out the suffragette movement\, you saw his costumes onstage. If you saw th
 e movie Wicked\, you saw his sparkling\, extravagant\, labor-intensive cos
 tumes. (He also did the costumes for the sequel.) He’s done costumes for
  stage productions of Hamilton\, Death Becomes Her\, In the Heights and Th
 e Color Purple\, and films including The Immortal Life of Harriet Lacks an
 d the 2021 remake of West Side Story. He created Chappell Roan’s upcycle
 d look for the 2025 Met Gala made from 830 leather pieces. He’s won an O
 scar\, an Emmy and a Tony for his work (alas\, he cannot be an EGOT winner
  because the Grammys don’t have a costume category!)\nThe Buchtel High S
 chool graduate learned to sew as a child from his mother\; while at Buchte
 l\, he created the costumes form a production of The Wiz\, giving his clas
 smates at hint of what he might become. He went on to several art schools\
 , and the rest is history.\nNow he’s coming home in glory at speak at Ak
 ron’s Knight Center as a guest of Akron Roundtable. Not their usual time
  and place\, but they needed a bigger venue. Tickets include a buffet lunc
