 debrandt Provisions Building features work by Cleveland-based Jen P. Harri
 s.\nThrum\, their first solo exhibition at Abattoir\, features a group of 
 “loom paintings\,” “described as “hybrid paintings on panel and ca
 nvas which themselves become looms\; structures for the weaving that sits 
 on top of the painted surface.” These paintings\, they say\, “collapse
  distinctions between mediums\, holding them in tension. In so doing\, the
  work resists fixed interpretation\, privileging ambiguity as both a visua
 l and philosophical condition.” That tension is the “thrum.”\nCurato
 r Sam Adams has written an essay about the how which will be published as 
 a booklet\, looking at the connections between abstract painting and texti
 le work and fitting Harris’s work into those dual mediums. The show open
 s with a free\, public reception on May 1 and will be on view through June
