Learn the Stories Behind the Photos in Cleveland Print Room’s Peer Show

Wed 9/25 @ 6:30-8PM

The Cleveland Print Room’s annual juried National Peer Show features 35 works chosen by jurors Jacob Rhodes of New York City’s Field Projects Gallery and Los Angeles-based artist Aline Smithson, founder and editor-in-chief of Lenscratch.

This year for the first time, though, it was opened up for national submissions, so the works on the wall are a mix of artists that photography aficionados are probably familiar with and new names, working in a variety of processes and techniques, from vintage to contemporary digital.

The Best of Show award went to local artists Diana Hylwiak and Alison Brady, both adjunct faculty members at Tri-C, for their digital color shot of gross 1950s church potluck-style food. They’ll be among the artists to join a discussion about the show at the Cleveland Print Room, which will also include other show participants Samantha Bias, Brandon Baker, Jacqueline Bon, Matthew Chasney and Steve Mastroianni, who’ll share the stories behind their photos.

It’s free and open to the public, and there will be refreshments!
