The Akron Art Museum Offers a Host of Art-Making Opportunities for Kids

Thu 1/3 @ 11:15AM-12:30PM

Sat 1/5 @ 10:30AM-noon; 1-3PM

It may be a slow time of year, but the Akron Art Museum is offering plenty of things to keep your toddlers and your kids occupied.

On Thu 1/3 @ 11:15AM-12:30PM, the museum’s Kids Creative Playdate series, which stretches the creative muscles of kids ages 12 moths-5 years, will feature a project centered on “Supersized Masks and Mixed-Up Faces.”

On Sat 1/5 @ 10:30AM-noon, 3-5 year olds and their grown-ups can participate in “Tots Create,” a morning of messy and active fun that features not only time at the art table, but also movement, games and stories. Kids must bring an adult with them.

Finally, on Sat 1/5 @ 1-3PM, older kids (6-10) will have a chance to look at contemporary art with an artist/educator and then, inspired by what they’ve seen, head for the studio to produce their own art. Adults may participate with their kids, but these are BIG kids so they aren’t required to stay.

Kids should dress to get messy for all these sessions which are $5 for a member child, $10 for a non-member child per session. Registration is required for all.
