Poetry + at Art on Madison Gives Listeners the Chance to Spend an Evening with a Local Poet

Tue 1/15 @ 7PM

Did you miss Cleveland author Lee Chilcote’s release party for his new book of poetry How to Live in the Ruins at Loganberry Books Friday?

Come spend a full evening with him at Art on Madison as part of its monthly POETRY + series. The event gives a writer a chance to stretch out and share parts of their entire body of work and explore them in depth with the audience so they have a better understanding of where that author is coming from.

And Chilcote has been a prolific writer, even while founding and serving as executive director of Literary Cleveland, a post he just stepped down from late last year. As a journalist and creative essayist, his work has been published in local and national magazines, newspapers and blogs, as well as books such as Rust Belt Chic: A Cleveland Anthology, The Cleveland Neighborhood Guidebook, and A Race Anthology: Dispatches and Artifacts from a Segregated City.

He released his first chapbook of poems, The Shape of Home, in 2017, and his second, How To Live in the Ruins, late last year.

POETRY + is free and open to all. Doors open at 7pm; reading starts at 7:30.
