“Watchers of the Sky,” a Film Exploring the Issue of Genocide, Screens at the Maltz Museum

Wed 6/6 @ 7PM

The 2014 film Watchers of the Sky was inspired by a Pulitzer Prize-winning book on genocide written by Samantha Power, who served as four years as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations under President Obama.

It tells the stories of four individuals, including Power, who grappled with the issue of genocide and what could be done to prevent it. It looks at the Holocaust, the Armenian Genocide, the Rwandan Genocide and the War in Darfur, asking what can we do to put some teeth in the promise “Never again.”

The film screens at the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage, with a talkback following the screening. It’s $8 general admission, $5 for Maltz Museum members.
