The Lakewood-based Original Festival Collective is hosting an event called Refined, taking place at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds, to showcase the explosive growth of local craft distilleries across the state of Ohio.
Distilleries from as far away as Cincinnati will be participating, along with closer-to-home ones such as Cleveland Whiskey, Cleveland Distillery and Willoughby’s Minglewood Distilling. Distilleries will have sampling stations, and there will be a bar where you can taste cocktails made from their spirits.
In the mood for something else? Western Reserve Meadery, Feisty Mead, Sibling Revelry Brewing and 5Penny Hard Cider will be offering alternatives. There’ll also be mixology demonstrations, and even be a “mocktail” bar for the non-drinkers and designated drivers.
The best part? A portion of the proceeds benefits no-kill cat shelter Tails from the City. And at the special cat bar with feline-themed cocktails such as “warm lap,” “wet whiskers” and “litter box” (we’ll pass on that last one), you can sign up to volunteer at TFTC.
