Cincinnati’s Madcap Puppets return to the stage of the Akron Civic Theatre, with a classic beloved by multi-generations of kids: Pinocchio.
The story of how woodcarver Geppetto creates a puppet with the determination to become a real live boy and all the challenges and scams he encounters in his quest became a cultural touchstone when Disney made the Italian children’s book into an animated feature first released in 1940. Among other things it gave us the classic song “When You Wish Upon a Star” and the concept of a person’s nose growing when they tell a lie. This interactive performance will give kids a chance to participate in Pinocchio’s quest.
Tickets are $12 for adults, $7 for ages 5-12, free for under 5.
